Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liners.

I picked up the Black and Nude Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liners a couple of weeks ago... "waterproof" though? Questionable.

Whilst I can't deny the creamy, pigmented formula of these is pretty lovely, without a smidge of pulling or tugging during application, I've actually been pretty disappointed by these eyeliners... because in the waterline, they are certainly not waterproof, and I don't think they're particularly long-lasting.

I've tried applying the black liner in the upper waterline (this is called tightlining and is a great trick to create thicker looking lashes), then waiting a little while before applying the nude pencil in the lower one, but I've found that, without fail, the black liner transfers to my lower waterline in the space of a few blinks.

As an alternative for tightlining, the L'OrĂ©al Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza is actually waterproof and long-lasting, plus it dries quickly without a hint of transfer upon blinking... and as for the lower waterline? I rather like the colour of the Nude liner, and haven't seen  anything like it amongst other budget makeup ranges, so I'll continue to use it until I find a suitable (...and cheap) alternative... even if I do have to top it up every so often.

Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liners is priced at £3.99 and available at Boots.

  1. I am so glad you said this, everyone raves about these shadows but I don't find them waterproof at all. I still use the nude one because I haven't found a better one at a reasonable price, but the black one just expands across my face throughout the day!

    1. The black is terrible... helloooo panda eyes! x

  2. I have found that nude one stays put on me for quite some time and i love it! I haven't tried the black one though and I don't think i will.

  3. I actually like these, but I kind of knew what I was getting into, always taking the word 'waterproof' with a pretty massive pinch of salt when it comes to eyeliners! I tend to use the black one for a smudgy eye look anyway, so it doesn't need to be waterproof for that. I really want to try the nude one though - as you said, there aren't many high street options like it! x

  4. I haven't tried the scandal eyes kohl's but I guess I won't be! Although the nude colour does look interesting - yet, there are many alternatives for the black!

  5. I love these, but they're not really waterproof at all. For me they last a long time but that's irrelevant whether they're waterproof, on holiday in Turkey they lasted AWFULLY though!

  6. I'm a big fa of Bourjois eyeliners so I'll stick to them I think! I have to say the nude colour does look good though! xxx Thou Shalt Not Covet
