Origins Clear Improvement Activated Charcoal Mask.

If you watched my Skincare Tips for Problem Skin video, you'll know I told you I try to avoid the sweet stuff to stop myself from getting breakouts... but we all know this is near impossible at Christmas-time (damn you, irresistible selection boxes) which means some of you may be seeing the effects of all those green triangles and mince pies in your poor ol' skin.

You may have seen me mention the Origins Clear Improvement Activated Charcoal Mask in my Bad Skin Busters post... and in the last few months, it's become a skincare staple for when I feel a pesky breakout about to rear its ugly head.

This product contains plenty of blemish-fighting ingredients: White China Clay to absorb environmental pollutants, Lethicin to break down impurities and finally Activated Charcoal (hence the mask's colour) to draw out pore-clogging material.

I prefer to use this mask having just stepped out the bath or shower and apply a thin layer to my skin, leaving to dry for around 10 to 15 minutes, before splashing my face with warm water and removing the remainder with a damp flannel (sidenote: given the colour of the mask don't use your mum's nice cream towels to do this, she may get cross... like mine did).

You can (quite literally) see the difference in your skin before and after you've used this product... it looks so much clearer and brighter! A a word of warning, though; this stuff seriously deep cleanses... I suffered a bit of a breakout a couple of days after using it for the first time. I, personally, think this is a good sign, as it shows the mask is actually doing its job!

I use this once a week all over my face... and if my skin feels a little congested, I'll use it on targeted areas once more in the week.

Bonus points for this mask, because if you manage to use this mask just as you feel a pesky spot coming on, it often stops the little blighter from forming altogether...

Origins Clear Improvement Activated Charcoal Mask is priced at £22.00, and available at Boots.
