Color Riche Collection Privée by L'Oréal Paris.

Confession time: I've never been one for a nude lip.

I've always found the majority of drugstore nude lipsticks to cater for Caucasian skin tones ... meaning they don't look all too much like 'my lips but better' on me (incase you're late to the Bombay Rose party or you've not cottoned on already, I'm Indian!). I've also found it really difficult to know exactly what sort of colour would look good on me...

Drugstore favourite L'Oréal Paris has just launched the Color Riche Collection Privée - an exclusive collection of nude lipsticks created in collaboration with various L'Oréal ambassadors, designed to cater to every skin tone out there.
The UK collection features six shades: Cheryl Cole, Freida Pinto, Julianne Moore, Liya Kebede, Eva Longoria and Doutzen Kroes.

Freida's Nude* is a lavender shade, designed to emphasise caramel toned complexions. It is housed in, quite possibly, the most luxurious packaging I've ever come across for a mere drugstore lipstick... it looks rather akin to a high-end product if you ask me!

I have to be honest and say I was ever so slightly horrified to see the colour of the lipstick, but was reassured by my makeup loving mother (clearly my obsession is an inherited one!) that this colour looked great on Indian skins...

... and she was right (she will be reading this whilst saying something along the lines of "...but I always am.").

The lipstick goes on super smoothly, and is very sheer with a gorgeous, glossy finish - this shade is really natural-looking rather than an 'obvious nude' - I've always been sceptical of a nude lip for daytime, especially judging by the gharish shades I've seen in the drugstore, but this collection has totally changed my mind!

L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Collection Privée Lipsticks are priced at £8.16 each, and available at Boots. Find your perfect shade by clicking here.

  1. I'd love to see you wearing this! Maybe in your next FOTD or video perhaps? hehe I think the packaging looks gorgeous, especially for a drugstore lipstick. I'll definitely be checking these out once they land here.

    1. Hi Ash
I deliberately did not put a photo in because 1) the colour doesn't seem to show up on camera & the winter dullness and darkness in the UK tests my limited camera skills! & 2) it looks so natural on... but in a really good way! These lipsticks are all about enhancing what you already have in terms of skin tone and natural lip colour! x

  2. Ooh so true, I find it so hard to find nudes, Just found my perfect one from Mac but this looks like a brilliant alternative, much more pinkier than my Mac one and a lot cheaper! The packaging is gorgeous too!

  3. So I'm currently on their website finding my shade...
This is a challenge, because 99.99999% of all nudes look bloody awful on me! Either too pale or too pinky or just plain weird - my lips are fairly dark/pigmented enough that I've learned to stick to my natural lip colour and just go with it...thing is, now I'm curious and I WANT ONE!!

  4. P.S I'm Eva Longoria's shade, (so the little calculator tells me) not complaining at all.
I hope it transforms the rest of me into her.
