My Everyday Makeup Look is one I love, as I feel it enhances my best feature... my 'dinner plate eyes' (as Daddy Bombay Rose calls them...), so when it comes to evening makeup, I play it safe, and work with my daytime look (albeit applied with a slightly heavier hand), but bolt on a couple of products to make the whole thing a little more PM-friendly.
L'Oréal Paris True Match Foundation is my weapon of choice - it's got great coverage and more of a matte finish than my usual NARS picking. I use the shade W7 Golden Amber, and mix in a small amount of the L'Oréal Paris Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer to amp up the radiance and lighten the shade just a smidge.
Next up: eyes.
You all know I have soft spot for the Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Duo in Raisins, which has sadly been discontinued (sidenote: if you're looking for a dupe, this NARS palette is the closest I've found to one). I use the Raisins palette as I would in the day; smoothing the lighter colour over the lid, and the darker one into the crease, but to play up my eyes that little bit more...
I whip out my NARS And God Created the Woman palette and blend the matte, dark brown shade (2nd row, middle) into the outer corners of the lid and lower lash-line. I've stopped wearing eyeliner on the waterline, and find using a matte shadow gives the same definition, but is much softer than harsh pencil.
Sadly, this NARS palette, just like the Estée Lauder one, has also been discontinued (*sniffs*) - however, the shadow in question 'Coconut Grove' is available as a single.
Continuing with eyes, luscious, long lashes are a given...
... and the Millie Mackintosh Soho Lashes give you just that. I've used these an awful lot the last few months (as I mentioned in my last video), and there really are no other falsies like it.... to date, I've got seven uses out of this pair. Yes... you read that right: SEVEN. If you look after them, they really do last, so (...in my humble opinion) are worth the slightly higher price tag than cheaper drugstore alternatives.
My evening lip-product was a hand-me-down from my mum absolutely yonks ago (I know, I know: you should replace makeup every 12-18 months, yada yada...). I'm afraid to say it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the other products in this post due to the fact it's been rattling around in many a clutch bag over the last
several few years...
As you can tell, it's rather well-loved.
This is the L'Oréal Paris Glam Shine Lip Gloss - I use the shade Mercury Crystal, a shimmery berry-toned red.
And that's it - really not all that much is changed... just switching my daily base and lipgloss, and adding in 2 extra products, but it all helps to created a slightly more dramatic, evening-appropriate look.
How do you adapt your makeup look for evening?
