Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Duo in Raisins.

I've been rather brave with my makeup choices of late - blue eyeliner, plum lipstick... you name it, I've tried it.

Let's shake things up further, then, with purple (yes, purple) eyeshadow. Crazy, right?

I decided to succumb to the temptation of my Currently Coveting wishlist, and bought the Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Duo in Raisins. I know I declared my bank balance to be looking rather desperate back then... sadly, the situation has not changed (sob), but a quick glance at my Boots Advantage Card statement and I realised I could buy it entirely with my points. This coupled with the fact it was finally in stock on the Boots website... well, frankly I'd have been rude not to.

The iPhone "heart eyed smiley" nicely sums up my feelings towards this gorgeous palette... in fact, I didn't even want to use it and spoil the shadows - that's how pretty it is.

I finally caved and began using it a couple of days ago in place of my NARS And God Created the Woman palette. I've taken to wearing a wash of the lighter shade across the lid, and a little of the darker shade blended into the crease. These shadows are highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way and blending them together is really quick and easy. I've been pairing this softer eye with black gel eyeliner (I like the L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza) along the lashline. Overall, this creates a summer-appropriate smokey-eyed look, and the pink and plum tones compliment my brown eyes perfectly... however, having seen it on blue-eyed Zoella, I can safely say it is a product that will suit a lot of different skintones, hair and eye colours...

That is if you can get your bleedin' hands on it. I found it, so it's definitely possible, but fellow blogger Georgina (whose blog I love!) was told by an Estée Lauder sales assistant that the Raisins duo is being discontinued (sidenote to EL - why are you doing this?!). Both of us have kept an eye out for the palette, though, and managed to track it down on the Boots website (queue excited Twitter exchange...). Other, equally gorgeous shades are available in the range but I suggest that if you want Raisins in particular, you get lookin'.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Duo is priced at £23.00 and available at Boots.

  10. This palette is one of the prettiest palettes ever, I can definitely understand the 'I don't want to use it and ruin it' mentality hahaha. These colours look GORGEOUS on you. I am seriously jealous :) I really don't suit anything red/pink/purple on my eyes.
