A couple of months ago, I was on the hunt for a medium coverage foundation with a dewy finish... and I found it. I then promised to writ...
I recently did something I never, ever thought I'd do... I, the die-hard blush addict, bought a bronzer. For too long I saw no need ...
Happy June, ladies! The beginning of a new month means it's about time I told you about all my favourite beauty bits from the last ...
As I mentioned earlier this week, my skin hasn't been looking its best - I'm blaming stress... clinical medicine is great, but I...
If you read my blog regularly, you'll know that I'm about to state the obvious here: my hair is massive, and there's rather ...
Back in my March Favourites, I mentioned a product called Effaclar Duo, and credited it as the reason my cheeks have been spot-free of late.
I'd seen the likes of Ruth Crilly and Tanya Burr raving about it, and given the state of my skin back in February (acne central, I'm tellin' you), I thought it was high time I gave it a try.
Billed as a "correcting and unclogging moisturiser," La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo is packed full of spotty-skin saviours, including (I'm about to get nerdy here...) Niacinamide and Piroctone Olamine, which kill spot-causing bacteria, and LHA (Lipohydroxy Acid) and Linoleic Acid, which work to relieve congested pores.
So, what does all that scientific jargon actually mean for us beauty enthusiasts?
If I've learnt anything over the last couple of years, it's that these ingredients (the acids in particular) are your meal-ticket to clearer skin, as they gently, but effectively, slough off tired, old skin cells.
Effaclar Duo set to work on my unruly complexion quickly, and within a few days, my congested cheeks began to look smoother and clearer. Breakouts began to fade and my skin looked so much healthier... I've even been told by people that my skin looks good.
I put it all down to Effaclar Duo... I've had stubborn and (for want of a better word) 'bumpy' areas on my cheeks for years, and no product has ever managed to shift it the way this one has.
On the (now) rare occasion I break out, this clears up the spots in half the time it would take normally.
In short, it's bloody marvellous; this is my skin's one and only saviour.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (£13.00) is available in larger Boots stores and Escentual.com.
