I've donned an everyday smokey eye for longer than I care to remember, but earlier this year, I decided it was time to foray into the world of lipsticks.
Enter L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Lipstick in the shade Plum Passion; I've already written a bit of an ode to this in my Cheryl Cole 5 Product Face post (where you can see it in action) from last week, but here comes the full review.
I bloody love it.
The pros? Gorgeous packaging, budge-proof, buildable, beautiful colour, super moisturising (no one likes a flakey lip!), doesn't require a lip liner if applied appropriately, and, cherry on top of the cake here, it costs just £8.19.
The cons? Well, the single negative of this product has absolutely nothing to do with its quality... it's that it took me about four months to find the darned thing. I have no idea why this lovely lipstick isn't readily available online or in-store, but after contacting L'Oréal directly, I was told I would be able to find it in larger Boots stores... I eventually found it in a small Boots store back home in the Midlands, of all places!
My tip for even application it is to lightly smooth in colour from the bullet using your finger, press the lips with a tissue, then apply the lipstick directly to the lips - personally, I find I don't need lip liner if I blot in a coat of colour first. The staying power is impressive for a drugstore lipstick too - really not much to report in the way of fading or feathering!
I can tell you the bullet of my lipstick no longer looks like the picture above, it's practically been moulded to the shape of my bottom lip due to the sheer number of times I've worn it already.
What do you think of this lipstick? Will you be hunting it down for your makeup bag?
