Come Undone.

For the last couple of years, fashion has dictated one of two ways for us ladies wear our hair - curly or straight, with little leeway for other styles. Sure, there was a brief spell when tousled waves were in... but spritzing salt spray all over the hair doesn't exactly make it touchably soft.

Which is why I'm so happy to share with you the beauty trend of the Autumn Winter 2012/13 season... and that is undone (but not messy!) hair. No fussy curls, no beachy waves and no dead-straight tresses; just healthy hair that exudes effortless chic.

Kate Moss used to be the champion of undone hair, but Rosie Huntington Whiteley has stolen her crown - just look at that hair!

The key to this look is that your locks are in healthy condition - put down the ghds, curling irons and heated rollers right now girls, because they are the prime suspects for lacklustre hair (read a few more suggestions to improve you hair's health here).

And I've saved the best 'til last here... this look is so very quick to achieve: apply a a volume spray (I like this one at the moment) through the hair and blow-dry using a round barrel brush to create bounce through the roots and lengths.
When the hair is dry, forgo the tongs and apply serum through the ends of the hair (I love TRESemme Split End Sealing Serum), finishing with a spray of Umberto Giannini Dazzling Shine Glossing Mist  (as featured on Friday Favourites) all over the hair.
If you have time, split your hair into 2 equal sections and twist each one into a loose bun (it must be loose or you'll create waves rather than texture!) - do your make-up and let your hair out just before you walk out the door.
If you're running late, simply twirl sections of the hair around your fingers to create definition and texture through the lengths.

I'm so glad this is a trend, as it gives me an excuse to press snooze on my alarm tomorrow morning!

What do you think of this beauty trend? Will you be giving it a go?
