Oh, Honey.

I'm having one of those weeks with my skin - it can be temperamental at the best of times, but this week it's got a mind of its own. It's lacklustre, bumpy and uneven and, unfortunately, well past the stage where my Manuka Doctor regime can help.
If you've ever experienced this problem, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about, and it's just the worst. But thankfully, I've discovered a wonderful (and cheap!) clay mask that works wonders for my acne-prone skin (incidentally, I put the change in my skin down to the fact I'd run out of this incredible product, which tells you just how much my skin loves it!).

Introducing a clay-based mask into your skincare regime is a good way to deep cleanse the skin, drawing impurities (including dead cells and excess oil within pores) to the surface, therefore reducing the chance of spots developing. Another natural treat for the skin is Manuka honey - as well as being tasty when added to your morning porridge, it can be applied to the skin directly, and clears spots whilst also reducing acne scars and pigmentation.
Yet another treat? Aloe vera, which is also great for troublesome skin, and I've written about at length here.

So imagine my joy when I found a clay mask that incorporated both Manuka honey and aloe vera, amongst several other naturally-derived, spot-fighting ingredients!

Dr. Organic's Manuka Honey Face Mask, £7.19 is a God-send - I've already discussed why naturally derived products are better for acne-prone skin, and Dr Organic products happen to be free of parabens, SLS and artificial colours/fragrances. The mask claims to be "deep cleansing, restoring and nourishing," and that, it is. It also smells incredible and really is the ultimate treat for stressed-out skin.

I really like to work this mask into my freshly-cleansed skin by applying with my fingers using circular motions and slight pressure, leaving on for 10 - 15 minutes while the mask dries, and removing with a warm, damp flannel.

Whilst the packaging says to use this mask twice a week, a good clay mask should be applied to the skin as often as you are able to do so - I tend to use it 3 - 4 times a week to help keep my skin clear.
