Whilst dragging my mother around various stores on a recent shopping trip, she pointed out that virtually every item I was picking up was coral-coloured - it seems I don't just have an addiction to polka dots then!
Kate Middleton was spotted in coral JBrand jeans only a couple of months back, and it has quickly become the hottest colour to be seen in this summer... and for very good reason. It is without a doubt one of the most flattering hues to wear, thanks to its lovely warm pink undertones, making the wearer look radiant without even trying!
So here are a couple of gorgeous coral-coloured items to tempt you with - go on, pick one and buy it (or get all of them. I won't judge!). One tip - your coral piece should be the main star of your outfit and not battling against other brights (which can cheapen the entire look)... keep the rest of your colour palette neutral!
How about this fun coral blazer from Aspire? I bought it a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favourite item in my wardrobe. Pair with a white-tee, light wash denim and tan accessories for daytime, or throw it over a little black dress for a pop of colour when you're heading out for the evening.
This gorgeous blouse is the epitome of girly chic - it would look great tucked into a navy skater style skirt like this one. For a look with little more edge, wear over leather-look leggings with some killer ankle-boots to toughen up the feminine bow and pleats.
These loose-fit shorts are perfect for summer and are an absolute steal! I think they've been styled to perfection in the above look, and are a great example of why this colour should be worn with neutrals - the combination of a single bright colour with white makes the outfit so much more stylish.
Who says you have to wear black to a black-tie event?! Stand out from the crowd and opt for this maxi dress instead of dull, boring black. This dress really is stunning, and the shape and fit are flattering on girls with curves (and how do I know this? Well I have this dress myself... I told you I have an obsession with coral!).
If you don't feel you can plunge into coral coloured clothing quite yet, fear not. How about dipping your toe (literally) in the coral-pool with this cheap and cheerful Barry M polish? And yes, before you ask. I have this item too...
I'm afraid this will be my only post this week as I'm off to a friend's wedding until Sunday, so have a great seven days whatever you're up to!
