I've got combination skin, and as a teenager suffered from acne. Nothing I applied to my face seemed to work... I quite literally bought and tried anything and everything. Luckily, when I hit 20, my skin began to clear, and whilst I still get spots, it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.
What hasn't gone are the hyperpigmentation marks and scars left from my teenage acne, which I was incredibly conscious of.
So when Manuka Doctor brought out their ApiClear range, that claimed not only to clear blemishes, but also reduce the appearance of scars, I was a little sceptical. Manuka Doctor is the only high-street available skincare line that harnesses the power of bee venom in its products. Bee venom has been popular among the rich and famous for quite some time now - rumour has it Kate Middleton's amazing wedding-day glow was down to a bee venom facial! And who wouldn't want her skin...?!
Manuka Doctor's brand ambassador happens to be the gorgeous Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea, and best friend Caggie Dunlop is also a fan if her make-up bag is anything to go by... so I decided to shell out and buy the ApiClear range (foaming cleanser, toner, serum & moisturiser) to see what all the fuss was about.
Let me tell you now - boy oh boy, this stuff is uh-mayyyy-zing.
The difference was almost instantaneous, even the most stubborn blemishes began to vanish ... and I know for a fact my scars are fading, I'm now perfectly happy to wear a light tinted moisturiser instead of a full-face of foundation like I used to. I also love the very light 'tingly' feeling you get when you've applied all the products to your skin!
I couldn't recommend this stuff more highly, it really is a God-send! As well anti-bacterial action to fight the cause of spots, bee venom also has anti-ageing properties and, to top it all off, all Manuka Doctor products are free from nasties like Parabens and SLS - win, win!
The Manuka Doctor ApiClear range is available exclusively at Holland and Barrett and ranges from £5.99 to £49.99.
